The information is interesting, although it can be founded more expanded in Mann's "The Trail of Gnosis." There are a few controversial statements which are claimed as facts, such as Zurvanism being claimed to be pre- zoroastrian as opposed to a early pre-classical Zoroastrian sect. It is interesting how much Manichaeism opportunistically moved from Christina to Buddhist and Taoist syncretism depending on whether it was expanding down the Silk Road or into the Roman Empire. The electronic manuscript has a lot of typos and formatting problems which cost it a star. For more info, in addition to Mann's work, I would suggest "The Other God" by Yuri Stoyanov.Product details

Manichaeism 101 edition by Judith Mann Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
Of course, I like the topic so I would find it interesting. But Judith Mann's writing would draw any reader into the subject.
This little book is a real gem!
Thank goodness for this book! It has clear and compelling writing about the prophet Mani and this religion originating in Babylonia
Judith Mann writes with passion and clarity about Mani, the dauntless leader, and this major gnostic religion later accepted in China under the pretense of being part of Taoism.
A must read for followers of gnostic history.
